Fife ABS Locality Support PDF Print E-mail
2. To assist on providing locality support to customers residing in projects.

The transfer request system was created to allow customers in projects the opportunity to be moved into their preferred area of choice. It is the duty of the specified project accommodation staff to input the transfer information and to initiate movement.  As all users of the brokerage system can view daily vacancies they have the ability to view what alternative vacancies are available.  If a suitable vacancy is available at an alternative project the accommodation staff from the customer’s current project are responsible for contacting staff at alternative to request transfer.  If accommodation staff at the preferred project are willing to accommodate the customer, the project initiating move must contact temporary allocations team for move to be authorised.

If authorisation is given, temporary allocations will remove vacancy and transfer request from the accommodation brokerage system.

It has also been identified that customers in project accommodation may require accommodation out with areas that projects are situated.  If this is the case, the customer is required to contact their Homeless Person’s Officer (HPO) and ask for a flat request to be raised for their preferred area.  The HPO will do this via temporary allocations and the customer will be added to waiting list for that specific area.  It is advisable to ensure that customers are aware of the high demand for single person/couple accommodation and that time scales for waiting can not be estimated.
