Fife Alcohol Support Service
| Introduction | Referral conditions |
| Fife Alcohol Support Service (FASS) provides free, community based, confidential counselling for individuals aged 16 and over concerned about their drinking and for family members who support them. Counselling is available in 26 Health Centres, Clinics and Hospitals throughout Fife and in outreach centres in Kirkcaldy, Dunfermline, St Andrews and Glenrothes. Counselling is available day and evening from Monday to Friday. A home visiting service is also available. Counselling helps clients find personal solutions for problem drinking and related issues. It addresses: regular or binge drinking; related poly-drug use; abstinence, controlled drinking or harm reduction; pre and post detoxification support; underlying causes including personal, family, employment and lifestyle issues, consequences of drinking including mental health, relationship and financial issues. Counsellors do not restrict themselves to working with alcohol problems, since these seldom occur in isolation. Counsellors are able and willing to take on the client as an individual with identifiable life problem areas. | Referrals may be made by GP's, Employers, Social Work or other relevant Agencies. Clients can refer themselves by telephone, letter or drop-in visit to the office. Make A Referral |
